<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I agree. On many of the messageboards I post on, there is a perpetually sticky thread explaining the rules of the board. an FAQ, basically. that would be a good thing here too.Originally posted by bonedust:
we need some very basic ground rules
What should the rules be? I can think of a couple I'd like:
Treat each other with a modicum of respect.
Don't call out another member on a trade. If you're trading, you must know how to get in touch with each other in private.
Don't bash the 'real' board here. We already know it sucks ( ) or we wouldn't be here in the first place.
Take it all with a grain of salt.
What else do we need.... as sort of bylaws we can pledge to sort of maybe go by?
Well, other than m correlation thread with StV posting here and some comments I made out the state over there, I don't think I have done in bashing of the other board.....thought about it, but don't think I have done it.
I still post there, and although not as much as I post here now, it is a valid place for me to gain information and continue discussions with those that aren't here.
Hopefully I haven't offended anyone and need to lash myself 40 times to atone for it, yet!
I look at each place as its own world. This is where I hang out with my board friends, and the other is where I talk with acquaintances.
ya lets not get too many ppl here. i prefer the nice close knit family thing we got goin on
no sex in the champagne room!
One potential problem may do in our "limited" partnership here. With every person we invite here, the list of other possible nominees goes up exponentially. How do we curtail that? I've notice that board members tend to hang out in more than one circle. Just because someone is friends with another doesn't automatically make them friends with each other's friends.
I think I'm okay with everybody here so far even though I am closer to half of them. There is always a chance that I won't like somebody. But I will respect that person's right to an opinion as long as it doesn't infringe on another person in any way.
I believe that as long as we show respect and tolerance towards each other, we'll get along just fine.
